Historic Belton Train Depot
Owing its inception to the Blue Ridge Railroad, Historic Belton is a charming small town that offers a wealth of attractions. Mainly a manufacturing town throughout the twentieth century, Belton is now poised to remake itself as a bedroom community and a small town tourist destination. Two events (the Standpipe Heritage & Arts Festival in October and the Wachovia-Palmetto Junior Tennis Championship in June) draw thousands of visitors from other regions to the town. Visitors can enjoy the South Carolina Tennis Hall of Fame and the Ruth Drake Museum (featuring exhibits on the local history of the railroad, agriculture, textiles, and genealogy) located in the historic Belton Train Depot and near the Belton Center for the Arts just off the historic downtown square.
