Hampton Park
Hampton Park is a 56 acre historic park located on the peninsula of the city of Charleston. This regional park serves the Charleston community and region as a destination. There are many layers of history, which have shaped this special place. These historic aspects include: 1791 Horse Race Track, 1864 Civil War Prison, 1865 site of First Memorial Day event, 1901-1902 West Indian Exposition.
