Anderson County Museum

Heritage Corridor Site

Begun in 1983, the Anderson County Museum is one of the largest museums of local history in South Carolina. After extensive renovations of the former library building, the museum reopened in 2003 with more than 25,000 square feet. Each year it draws about 15,000 people from several states to see its permanent and temporary exhibits. Indoor permanent displays include exhibits on textiles, electricity, agriculture, and religion. Outdoors, visitors can observe a functional livery stable, Ms. Frierson's one room school house ca. 1886 and enjoy the Robert Anderson Memorial Fountain.
