This train-inspired heritage museum features Aiken, Bamberg, Barnwell, and Orangeburg Counties is now open for visitors!  By journeying through a train car simulation, strolling along railroad tracks and exploring the past in replicas of Best Friend train cars, you can experience the history of the people, land and culture of this “Rivers, Rails and Crossroads” region.
Serving as a stopping point for visitors along the Heritage Corridor and Highway 78, this Discovery Center contains an interpretive center, kids area, gift and coffee shop and full visitor services area. The center is equipped with a fully trained staff to assist with any travel needs, a gift shop, and museum tours. For detailed information about this museum, please call (803) 284-3976.

The Blackville center is the second Discovery Center for the SCNHC, as part of the Discovery System. Through visitor's centers, interpretative signage, travel guides and maps, the Heritage Corridor Discovery System leads visitors on a journey of experiences while telling the story of South Carolina's Native Americans, the Colonial Settlement and the western migration into the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
