CHECK IT OUT!!!- Spring Farm Events Going On Now!

Family Fun on a Farm!
Pick some strawberries, pet baby goats, sip local cider, or sample fresh South Carolina grown products by exploring the agricultural treasures of the Heritage Corridor!

This agricultural phenomenon is taking place in the backyards of many South Carolinians! Drawing together the ideas of entertainment, education, and awareness, the Heritage Corridor Farmers Association (HCFA) and its members offer you an opportunity to experience South Carolina agriculture. By discovering this niche, you will find educational tours, commodity festivals, agricultural heritage festivals, tasting events, agriculture museums, county fairs, and a host of other events and opportunities for you to interact with farmers and producers of home grown products in our state.

The HCFA hosts a bi-annual series of festivals, each spring and fall. These events are great for the young and not so young, and everything in between!

The HCFA is made up of over forty farmers and agricultural partners located within the fourteen counties of the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor.  The goal of the Heritage Corridor Farmer’s Association is to provide a fun, family-oriented, educational experience to all who participate in this agricultural niche along the SCNHC.

The Association was formed in 2003 by farmers in the counties of Abbeville, Anderson, Edgefield, Greenwood, McCormick, Oconee, and Pickens.  With assistance from Corridor staff, the Ag-Venture Trail has extended from the original counties through the rest of the Heritage Corridor to include Aiken, Barnwell, Bamberg, Orangeburg, Charleston, Colleton and Dorchester counties.

Directional signage, membership signage, brochures, and farm festivals are only a few of the projects that this organization is undertaking. For more details on the Heritage Corridor Farmers Association, please contact Elizabeth Harm.

The SCNHC staff is working hard to develop trails in Gardens, Fine and Traditional Arts, Ag-tourism and African American Niches. If you are located in the SC National Heritage Corridor,  are a tourism destination that could fall within one of these niches and are interested in becoming involved, please email us!
