Jim Harrison: A Retrospective

As part of "Celebrate Aiken" -- the 175th Anniversary Celebration of the City of Aiken, South Carolina -- the Aiken Center for the Arts in downtown Aiken will host "Jim Harrison: A Retrospective" on April 1 - May 8. The show will also feature new paintings as part of "Jim Harrison - Glimpses of Aiken and other recent paintings." The public is invited to the opening reception for the show on Thursday, April 1 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Aiken Center for the Arts.
Also as part of the event there will be a lecture by Jim Harrison on Thursday, March 25 at 11:30 a.m. focused on the exhibitions. The lecture is free, but reservations are required - 803-641-9094.
The special edition poster (attached) celebrates the 175th anniversary of Aiken, South Carolina. The poster was created by Jim Harrison to symbolize the unique charm of Old Aiken. It represents one of his first works that features a new, somewhat impressionistic approach to painting.
