The Corridor, bound at one end by the ancient port city of Charleston and at the other by the mountains of the Blue Ridge, contains historic, cultural, and natural resources that tell the vibrant story of South Carolina ’s centuries long evolution and culture.

You can begin your journey of the Corridor at one of the regional Discovery Centers in Edgefield and Blackville. 

Each Discovery Center serves as a gateway to the area and starts you on a self-guided journey through the rural communities and historic backroads of South Carolina . 
Offering something for everyone to enjoy, the centers showcase dynamic exhibits and unique gift shops for that one-of-a kind souvenir. The friendly staff stands ready to help you with site visits along the Corridor and provide insight into lodging, dining and shopping. Both Discovery Centers welcome children and offer educational programs for school groups and home-schooled children.
